Board of Directors – Responsibilities


Debbi Scarborough – As President of the Board, Debbi’s responsibilities are to ensure the board is organized in a manner that is well suited for the school environment.  In addition to her leadership role, not only on the board but as Headmaster of the school, her responsibilities include setting up functional organizational charts and hiring qualified staff. Her expertise comes from 31 years of owning a successful executive search firm.  As a board member of the March of Dimes, her creative efforts with fundraising, has proven to be an asset.

Matthew Scarborough – Matthew’s expertise is in insurance. After 32 years in the industry we feel he is best suited to oversee our insurance needs and recommend changes when necessary.  This would apply not only to our liability issues, but also our group coverage’s to include pension, health, life and disability. His financial commitment and personal involvement help ensures the school’s financial stability

Steve Rayman – Steve brings us a fresh look at marketing.  His ideas regarding tuition and attracting new families have been extremely successful. Steve’s experience with the internet and internet marketing also allows us new avenues to explore to keep current in our marketing efforts. Steve also brings ideas to advertising in publications regarding pricing and key words.

Gannon Gingrey Manning – Gannon comes to us with experience in dealing with legislative issues and keeping apprised of current bills that affect the educational aspect. She also has extensive experience in fundraising efforts and is involved with our fundraising committees.

Allen Wilbanks – As Director of Maintenance/Facilities for Recreational Services at GSU, Allen has the ability to help us with our curriculum and partner with GSU to work with our children.  The success has already been proven with the team building efforts.  Allen also is clear on allocating money for outside projects for our life skill area.  He brings us teaching/coaching ideas to our staff. Allen also has made a strong commitment to help us with donations from other schools (e.g. used equipment etc).

Valery Voyles Jordan – Valery’s leadership skills and experience with business and non-profit organizations help maintain operations and contributes ideas to our fundraising efforts. Her community involvement helps our voice in the community.  Valery has experience with other private schools and shares ideas that help us build our foundation.

Ron Bell – As founding partner of Bell Capital, Ron’s financial expertise helps ensure our financial records are kept in order as well as realistic expectations for budgeting items. His involvement with other non-profit organizations gives him the expertise to present ideas for fundraising and community awareness.

Congressman Dr. Phil Gingrey – The Congressmen brings his government involvement as well as his community outreach.  His expertise helps us build a strong foundation to ensure that proper policies are being maintained.  His love for children and understanding of them from a medical point of view also help us determine proper placement of students.

Dr. Derrell Ray – Derrell is a well recognized psychiatrist in the Atlanta area. Derrell has the ability to help assess the proper admissions policies that we need to ensure our mission is being maintained. His experience with our population enables us to utilize his expertise to help set policy on behavior issues as well as sharing ideas on life skills.  He is also called upon when medical issues and appropriate behavioral questions arise.
